A History of Japanese Whisky at Gori Gori Peku

Please join us at Gori Gori Peku Japanese Whisky Bar in the North Loop, this Friday, April 20th, at 6:00 PM for a special class on Japanese whisky taught by Gardner Dunn, who is the Whisky Ambassador for Beam Suntory.  The class will of course include tastings. Mr. Dunn will take you on a journey that explores the history of Japanese whisky and their regional terroir and distilling styles that bring forth their unique and coveted flavor profiles.  He will also speak on the importance of ice and demonstrate his ice-carving techniques.

During the class there will be tastings from four Japanese whisky distilleries paired beautifully with grilled blue prawn kushiyaki, rohan duck breast kushiyaki, and ribeye steak kushiyaki. The class and tastings will last approximately an hour and a half.

At 7:30 PM, Mr Dunn will be dining at Kaiseki Furukawa.  In honor of Mr Dunn joining us, for the first time ever we will also be offering a separate Japanese whisky pairing which will include our rarest whisky, the Hakushu 18. If you would like to join-in for this 10 course Kaiseki dinner please make your reservation below as there are just a few seats remaining.
